Under the , all of your ECE courses will transfer 1-to-1 to a California State University (CSU). 

With an Associate Degree in Science in Early Childhood Education, you can transfer to Humboldt State University (or another CSU) as a junior, ready to complete a bachelor鈥檚 degree that will prepare you for more advanced career options.

In addition to the classroom, where you will learn theories of early childhood education, you鈥檒l also benefit from 100 hours of mentoring by a master teacher in our learning lab, the Child Development Center.  Our center cares for children 18 months to 5 years of age.

• Course work enables students to meet licensing requirements for teacher and director under Community Care Licensing Regulations (Title 22). 51茶馆 courses also allow students to meet the requirements for the Child Development Permit (Title 5) at the Associate Teacher, Teacher Mentor Teacher, and Site Supervisor level. Permits are issued by the  Experience to meet requirements are gained in ECE 7 and ECE 10.

• ECE 1, 2, 5 and 7 are offered each semester on the Eureka campus.  Other courses are offered on a rotation .  Classes rotate between day and night time hours.
• ECE 6, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 23, 31, and 34 are offered online in rotation. ECE 7 , requires three hours per week of fieldwork on campus at the Child Development Center or other approved site. 
• ECE 10 requires six hours of field experience per week either on campus at the CDC or with a Mentor Teacher selected through the .
