The Fire Academy at 51²è¹Ý is an Accredited Regional Training Program (ARTP) through California State Fire Training. Our academy is formally approved to deliver the Fire Fighter I curriculum and related courses that meet statewide professional standards for entry-level firefighters.

- Application Due April 25th
Attend Mandatory Orientation
- Upcoming Orientation - April 11, 2026 9:30am, Eureka Campus, Performing Arts Theater
- Zoom Orientation 11:30 am available for out of town candidates, please email Rachel-warze@redwoods.edu for attendance approval and zoom link.
Obtain Medical Clearance- Must have medical clearance prior to April 25th Physical Ability Assessment.
Participate in Physical Ability Assessment
- April 25th, 2026- 9 or 11am, sign-ups during orientation, Eureka Campus, Track
Enrollment in each academy is determined through a lottery. Names are drawn at random to establish the order of acceptance. If you are not selected for the academy you applied for, you will have the option to secure a seat in the next available academy.
